Companion, escort or rent-a-friend – what’s the difference?

Search online for a male companion and you’ll find a lot of terms that sound similar but mean very different things. So that you know exactly what to expect, here’s a short, honest overview.

Escort

Today the word is mostly used for services where physical or sexual services play a part. That is exactly what der Freizeitmann is not.

Dating service

Here the goal is to find a long-term partner. A companion isn’t looking for a relationship and creates no romantic expectations – he offers time and good company.

Rent-a-friend
